General Information:
Colwill School is multi-cultural school which welcomes International Students, providing a warm, caring environment.
Colwill offers short-term Cultural Exchange Programmes (January and July - see seperate Short Term Visitors page) as well as long-term programmes (duration of 3 months or more).
Long Term Programmes
Kiwi buddies support International students when integrating with mainstream classes.
English Support Class ; Students with English as a second language are assessed and then receive small group instruction (3-6 students) from a specialist teacher at least twice a week.
Colwill aims for International Students to attain a high standard of academic achievement. Students are encouraged to participate in national and international testing such as the New South Wales Mathematics, English Writing, Computer and Spelling.
Curriculum
Junior & Middle curriculum
focuses on numeracy, literacy and oracy.
Senior curriculum
includes numeracy, literacy, oracy and special education.
Opportunities
Education Outside the Classroom: (trips involve international students and kiwi buddies)
Scuba Diving Certificated course (for enrolments of 6 months plus)
Indoor Golf
Rock Climbing
Kayaking skill

School Camp (Year 5-8)

Pastrol Care:
Homestay monitoring - Deputy Principal visits homes with School Interpreter
Weekly meeting between Korean Liaison Officer and students
Term meetings between agents, host family and school Korean Liaison Officer - available to organise: enrolments, answer questions and arrange interviews with teachers.
